JKSSB Junior Assistant Syllabus 2025
The JKSSB Junior Assistant Exam 2025 will be conducted in two stages, a written test followed by a typing or computer skill test. The written examination will carry 100 marks and include objective-type multiple-choice questions. It will cover five major sections: General Awareness with Special Reference to J&K UT, General English & Comprehension, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Computer Applications. Each section will carry equal weightage of 20 marks, and negative marking of 0.25 may apply for every wrong answer as per JKSSB rules.
The General Awareness section will focus on the history, geography, culture, and economy of Jammu and Kashmir, along with national and international current affairs. It will also include topics such as the Indian Constitution, governance, political and physical divisions of India and the world, environmental issues, biodiversity, everyday science, important government schemes, sports, awards, and books and authors.
In the General English & Comprehension section, candidates will be tested on vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills. Topics include synonyms, antonyms, idioms, phrases, one-word substitution, error spotting, sentence correction, fill-in-the-blanks, reading comprehension, letter writing (formal and informal), as well as paragraph and precis writing.
The General Intelligence & Reasoning section will measure logical and analytical ability. Key areas include analogy, classification, series (number, alphabet, coding-decoding), blood relations, order and ranking, puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogism, directions, distances, and non-verbal reasoning through figures and patterns.
The Quantitative Aptitude part will evaluate numerical ability through topics such as number system, simplification, approximation, ratio, proportion, percentage, average, profit and loss, time and work, time, speed and distance, simple and compound interest, and data interpretation using tables, graphs, and charts.
The Computer Applications section will test basic computer knowledge and its practical usage in office work. This includes fundamentals of computers, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, internet, email, networking, operating systems like Windows and Linux basics, keyboard shortcuts, computer terminology, troubleshooting, and daily use of computers in official tasks.
After qualifying the written test, candidates must appear for the Typing and Computer Skill Test. This test requires a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute in English, with additional evaluation on formatting and accuracy in MS Word and MS Excel.
